The Chongqing base accommodates more than 1,200 dormitory rooms with over 4,000 residents. To improve the digital living experience, the enterprise deployed a building-wide Wi-Fi coverage solution, delivering high-speed, low-latency connectivity with seamless signal penetration throughout all dormitories.
Severe congestion during peak hours: From 18:00 to 23:00 daily, latency increased significantly, causing frequent video buffering and gaming disconnections.
Inefficient troubleshooting: Traditional manual, layer-by-layer fault detection was time-consuming, error-prone, and costly.
Coarse traffic management: Lack of fine-grained control led to uneven bandwidth allocation, inadequate handling of high-risk applications, and compliance risks in security auditing.
01. Network Architecture Upgrade
A hybrid Layer 2/Layer 3 WLAN architecture was deployed (partly with Paibox APs) to achieve high-density wireless coverage. At the gateway, Panabit’s Intelligent Application Gateway was installed to support multi-WAN load balancing and integrated with Panalog for traffic logging and auditing.
02. Application-Aware Traffic Offloading
By combining leased lines with standard broadband links, the system enabled multi-link intelligent load balancing. Bandwidth-intensive, cost-sensitive traffic (e.g., video and downloads) was routed over standard broadband, while latency-sensitive critical services (e.g., office and management applications) were carried over dedicated leased lines.
03. Rapid Fault Localization
Leveraging Panabit’s three-segment latency analysis (client → gateway → server full-path tracing), the IT team achieved minute-level precision in fault identification, enabling rapid isolation and resolution.
Through multi-WAN deployment and application-level traffic scheduling, the enterprise achieved both business continuity and significant bandwidth cost optimization.
